The Tamil Eelam national struggle may have reached a bloody turning point in 2009. But that conclusion can never erase the historical role, political greatness, or psychological presence of our National Leader, Hon. Velupillai Prabhakaran. He remains the sole leader of our people. Regardless of what may have ended, the word Prabhakaran is now inextricably intertwined with Tamil liberation, freedom, and sovereignty. This is not only a historical reality—it is an enduring truth deeply rooted in our consciousness and spirit.

✦. Leader Hon. Prabhakaran – A Soul Imprinted in Our Hearts
In July 2009, in our philosophical-psychological study titled “Velupillai Prabhakaran: Being and Nothingness – May 18 Before and After”, we argued that Prabhakaran is not a mere individual; he is a psychological construction formed by the collective soul and mind of an entire people.
For over thirty years, the Tamil nation’s political aspirations, resistance, opposition, and hope were inseparably bound to the growth of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). As the iconic embodiment of this journey, Leader Prabhakaran has been etched into the Tamil psyche.
The name Prabhakaran does not merely represent an individual. It denotes a psychological archetype of a nation. In the hearts of Tamils:
> “Nation – Nationalism – National Leader”
These three elements were crafted as a unified life force across three decades. Any political attempt that ignores or deviates from this psychological foundation will remain nothing more than a lifeless plan, devoid of vitality.
✦. Being and Non-Being – A Coexisting Movement
We did not propose this idea when he was at the peak of his victories.
Rather, it emerged amidst negative political and media landscapes that tried to erase him, while his presence continued to grow stronger in the public consciousness.
> His “absence” is not something we cannot believe; it is something we cannot accept.
Mullivaikkal may stand as a trail of blood, but it also became indisputable evidence that the spiritual image of Prabhakaran—the embodiment of Tamil freedom—cannot be destroyed.
✦. Prabhakaran – The Radiographic Image of Tamil Collective Consciousness
His image is not idol worship or heroic mythology. It is:
The long beam of a people’s psychological journey
A symbol of self-rule, self-belief, and sacrificial spirit
A true depiction formed upon the wounded body of the nation
Our study concluded:
> Prabhakaran is the psychological foundation of a free Tamil identity.
✦. The Inescapable Voice of History
To accept the phrase “He is no more” is to politically surrender from the path of liberation.
Any political approach that denies his existence is not just a state of mind—it is a conscious betrayal of history.
Our study “Prabhakaran: Being and Non-Being” placed the emotional reverberations of his name on one side and his liberation doctrines on the other,
and examined them before and after Mullivaikkal.
The conclusion was this:
> There is no such thing as the absence of Prabhakaran — his existence defines the condition of the Tamil nation.
✦. In Conclusion…
Even in the times to come, Tamils have not forgotten him — and never can.
His memory stays evergreen in our hearts.
His doctrines guide our dreams.
His philosophies will shape our future political actions.
> The name “Velupillai Prabhakaran” will forever stand as the enduring emblem of our nation’s liberation.
