Every single fighter who operated under the banner of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Tigers stood aligned with a clear path toward freedom. The principles, actions, and commitments of the movement were rooted in that liberation vision. Most who walked this path did so with full dedication, prepared to sacrifice their very lives.

But as in every revolution, there are always a few who betray it — and that betrayal is often a painful scar. Today, counter-revolutionaries who seek to derail the true struggle for Tamil liberation are operating with sophisticated and dangerously deceptive disguises.
The Mask of the Fighter – Betrayals in the Name of the National Leader
Using the revered name of our Great Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, there are now individuals disguising themselves in his legacy while actively undermining the liberation path he charted. These masked actors, many of whom emerged from surrender or were ideologically displaced, are now functioning in European countries under titles like “social organizations,” “human rights movements,” and “pseudo-political activists.”
These individuals:
◉ Subtly shift Tamil people away from the path of true liberation by planting ideological distortions.
◉ Try to reshape or replace the principles and direction of Hon. Prabhakaran.
◉ Disguise themselves as “humanitarian fighters” before international entities like Europe, Canada, Australia, and the United Nations, attempting to transform the demand for liberation into a soft, appeasing political request.
Intelligence Penetration – How Movements Are Sabotaged from Within
The real danger lies here:
Those who were once expelled from the Tamil Eelam Liberation Tigers, those who surrendered during the final battle at Mullivaikkal and collaborated with Sri Lankan military intelligence, and members of alternate movements that operated abroad (often closely tied to Indian and Sri Lankan intelligence) — they have now been dusted off, revived, and reintroduced into discussions about “Tamil liberation,” “constitutional reform,” and “political pathways.”
These actors aim to:
Ban the Tamil Eelam political demand under the guise of “emotional belief.”
Dismiss the younger generation from the struggle by constantly criticizing the Tigers’ movement.
Force any political transformation to be accepted only with the approval of India or Western powers.
Misuse the name of our Hon. Leader Prabhakaran while rejecting the true path he created.
The Consequences of This Counter-Revolution
The impacts of this counter-revolution on the Tamil Eelam struggle include:
Creating divisions among the Tamil nation.
Generating confusion in the core national ideology.
Turning diaspora Tamils into political pawns.
Causing a lack of clarity and diminishing spirit among the younger generation.
Discrediting the Tamil struggle in front of the international media.
Today’s Reality – Suppression in the Name of “Peace”
Some of today’s so-called “Tamil social organizations,” often with foreign political backing and media support, are pushing Tamil rights into the realm of “human rights” — a flashy but rootless pathway. The true call for national liberation is being set aside, replaced by diluted terms like “compromise,” “inclusive solution,” and “humanitarian fighters.”
Resistance Is Essential
This counter-revolution targeting the Tamil people is operating with precision and planning. Intelligence manipulation, the return of surrendered individuals, and disguised social activists are all working toward a single goal — to erase the real image of Tamil Eelam liberation and replace it with a controlled, softened, politically diluted version of struggle.
In this situation, resistance is not optional — it is essential.
Every member of the younger generation must understand the real ideology behind our liberation. It is no longer possible to place hope in pseudo-movements, masked actors, or surrendered political narrators.
The truths of this hidden counter-revolution must be documented. The historical errors must be corrected. A genuine struggle for real liberation must rise again.
Tamil Eelam is not just an emotion – it is an identity.
And to protect that identity, we must fight. That is the duty of this generation.
Conclusion: Counter-Revolution Must Not Define Our Future
The Tamil Eelam national liberation movement, spearheaded by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), was not just a rebellion — it was a historic uprising born from a nation’s collective pain, unwavering resolve, and sacrifice. Every martyr and every policy of that movement was rooted in a singular goal: national freedom. Yet today, that legacy faces a dangerous counter-revolution — one far more insidious than any direct military threat.
This counter-revolution is orchestrated not merely through brute force, but through psychological warfare, political infiltration, and ideological distortion. Individuals who once surrendered during the final days of Mullivaikkal, those expelled from the movement for betrayal, and elements from alternate fronts that collaborated closely with Indian and Sri Lankan intelligence agencies are now being reactivated — repackaged as “human rights activists,” “peace advocates,” and “diaspora leaders.” These actors operate under masks — using the name and legacy of the National Leader to mislead, disrupt, and ultimately derail the path of Tamil liberation.
Today, from Europe to Canada to Australia, these entities quietly undermine the political foundation of Eelam by replacing the goal of independence with diluted narratives of reconciliation and coexistence. The true danger lies in their subtlety — not in open confrontation, but in ideological erosion, confusion, and depoliticization.
Let us be clear: freedom cannot be won through surrender, rebranding, or compromise. It can only be reclaimed through clarity, conviction, and collective resistance. Technological tools, NGO activism, and shallow diplomacy will not secure Tamil sovereignty — only a conscious, unified, and ideologically sound movement can.
Thus, understanding and exposing the counter-revolution is only the first step. The real responsibility lies in resisting it with courage and rebuilding a movement rooted in the truth, legacy, and sacrifices of our struggle. The liberation of Tamil Eelam is not a distant dream — it is an unfinished mission. And it must never be commodified, co-opted, or forgotten.
