KYIV, Ukraine | 05 November 2026
A fire broke out in Ukraine’s Kyiv region following an overnight drone and missile attack launched by Russian forces, local authorities reported.
Officials said the attack involved both unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles targeting areas in and around the Ukrainian capital. Air defence systems were activated as emergency services responded to the incident.
Authorities confirmed that a fire was sparked during the attack. However, details regarding the extent of property damage and any possible casualties were not immediately available.
The latest strike is part of a series of aerial attacks that Ukrainian officials say have continued across the country since Russia’s full-scale invasion began. Kyiv and the surrounding region have remained frequent targets due to their political, administrative and strategic significance.
Emergency crews were deployed to affected locations to assess damage and carry out response operations. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and follow official air raid and safety guidance issued by authorities.
Further information on the impact of the attack is expected to be released as investigations and recovery efforts continue.
